Trails Through Grasslands & Canopies
We have a number of scenic, well-marked trails on the reserve. The routes pass through grasslands and riverine forests with a number of viewpoints.
Our trails allow you to experience the untouched beauty of the outdoors. Keep a close look out as you may even pass some of our antelope on the reserve, such as; Impala, Nyala, Grey and Blue Duiker.

We have designated look out spots and benches placed along the trails. A perfect time to stop and catch your breath as well as snap a few photos!
River Valley Nature Reserve is home to over 130 different bird species. Bring along a pair of binoculars and see how many you can spot. Some species that can be seen are: African Crowned Eagles, African Fish Eagles, Black Sparrowhawk, African Harrier Hawk
